Tiger Stripes
Could stripes on a tiger or spots on a leopard be an indicator of intention at an unconscious level. Over a period of time somehow the consciousness of those animals realized that camouflage would be useful and somehow managed to alter their biology to create stripes or spots. Or a butterfly that had wings that have a pattern on them that look like the eyes of a large animal. A butterfly didn't suddenly decide that it would be a good idea to look like a large animal. So there is an intelligence working in back of it all that caused butterflies to evolve into that particular camouflage.
